Personal Reflection

Self-Reflection is a skill that I find to be very important as a teacher. The picture above shows a reflection strategy that I began during my Professional Semester placement at John S. Clarke Elementary Center, and continued throughout student teaching. As time went on, the "Daily Observation" column turned into a daily reflection where I would reflect on specific events that stuck out to me that day. At the end of the week, I would write how I was feeling overall, how I responded to an event that occurred earlier in the week, and any professional goals that I wanted to work on moving forward.

I found that this was a great way for me to process all of the things that I was feeling in a way that was constructive, rather than destructive. After doing this for so long, it has definitely become a habit that I plan to continue throughout my career.
